Pao Yang came to the U.S. when he was 6 years old from the Refugee Camps of Thailand in 1979. He is the President & CEO at The Fresno Center, a non-profit 501c (3) organization in Fresno that provides an array of social services, advocacy, immigration, leadership training, educational services, as well as prevention and clinical behavioral health services to the low-income minority community in Fresno County. The Fresno currently has over 120 staff who are culturally and linguistically proficient. Pao also sits on the following Boards and Committees: - Mayor Jerry Dyer’s Advisory Committee Member- current - Mayor Lee Brand’s Advisory Committee Member – 2018-2020 - City of Fresno Immigrants Affairs Committee Member- Current - City of Fresno Reopening Committee member- Current - Saint Agnes Hospital Community Benefit Committee board member-Current - DRIVE committee member for City of Fresno-Current - Member of Kiwanis Club of East Fresno-Current - Steering Committee Member for Central Southeast Specific Plan-Current - Member of Planning Commissioner for City of Fresno – 2017 - Bond Over Site Committee member for Central Unified School District-2016-2017 He is married with five children, one whom recently received his Doctor of Pharmacy 2020. His wife is a registered nurse. Pao is family- oriented and proud of his Hmong Heritage and Culture.
